30-Year-Old Scooter Driver Dead After Collision With Mercedes in Queens

January 2, 2022 Queens, New York – The driver of a motorized scooter died following a collision with a Mercedes sedan in Queens, New York City, police said.

According to police, just before 1:30am, the 30-year-old scooter operator struck the rear of the Mercedes near the intersection of 75th Street & 32nd Avenue in the Jackson Heights neighborhood of Queens.

The injured scooter rider who was not wearing a helmet, was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced dead, cops say.

The driver of the Mercedes sedan remained on scene following the deadly collision. No arrests were made, it’s unknown at this time if criminality was involved.
