27-year-old Woman Stabbed to Death at Women’s Shelter in Midtown Manhattan

December 16, 2022, MANHATTAN, New York – A 27-year-old woman was stabbed and killed inside a Project Renewal women’s shelter in Midtown Manhattan late Friday night.

Police reported a stabbing inside Project Renewal New Providence Women’s Shelter on East 45th Street and 3rd Avenue, shortly before 10p.m.

Victim was attacked by by a 42-year-old woman following a fight on the 6th floor hallway, officials said.

The female victim was found inside the Project Renewal Women’s Shelter at 225 East 45 Street in the Turtle Bay Neighborhood of Manhattan.

EMS responded to the location and rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital where the 27-year-old woman was pronounced dead, officials said.

Police say a fight broke out among the roommates, ending in victim getting stabbed in the head, shoulder and thigh, cops said.

Sources initially suggested the alleged suspect to have remained on the premises and lockdown was activated.

There are no arrests at this time and NYPD Detectives are searching for a suspect that fled the scene as the investigation into the deadly stabbing remains ongoing.
