Man Shot Dead During Quarrel at NYC Bodega

December 15 2022 -Manhattan, New York – A 30-year-old man was shot and killed following a verbal altercation that escalated into a violent chance encounter at a Manhattan bodega, Thursday evening

Tykeem Berry, 30, was allegedly involved in a verbal dispute with another man inside a Manhattan Bodega at 144 Nagle Avenue when he was shot at close range in the chest just before stumbling out of the Deli and collapsing onto the sidewalk, police said.

Just after 4:00pm 35th precinct police responded to shots fired near Nagel Avenue & Thayer Street in the Fort George neighborhood of Manhattan.

Upon arrival, officers located 30-year-old Berry with a serious gunshot wound to the chest and requested EMS to the scene. The unresponsive victim was rushed with critical injuries to Harlem Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No arrests at this time as the suspect fled on foot. It’s unknown as to what led up to the argument and the investigation is ongoing.
