December 06, 2022 Manhattan, New York – A 17-year-old teen boy was shot while walking on a Harlem sidewalk on Tuesday afternoon and rushed to a nearby hospital for further treatment, police said.

Just after 3:30pm, 28th precinct police officers responded to 911 calls of shooting close to Wadleigh Highschool near the intersection of West 114th Street & Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard in Harlem NYC.
Officers located a 17-year-old teen boy shot once in the abdomen, and was a rushed by EMS to St. Luke’s hospital with non life threatening injuries.






We spoke with Jhana, who works in the neighborhood and was walking to pick up a relative from Wadleigh High School because a school Basket Ball game was canceled due to the shooting proximity to the school.
“It just makes me feel unsafe, and there’s like always something going on. And then right near a school? So imagine the kids that go to that school, it’s just a lot” said Jhana.

Police are searching for a man and a woman wanted for questioning after fleeing eastbound in a vehicle on W 114th Street away from the shooting location.
No arrests at this time and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
