“We put you on notice” – Balenciaga Protest at Manhattan’s Nordstrom, Drag Story Hour Protests in Manhattan and Staten Island

December 3 2022 MANHATTAN, New York – A group in solidarity with “Mom Army” and “Gays Against Groomers” gathered to protest against Balenciaga on a rainy Saturday afternoon outosde of Manhattan’s Nordstrom Location.

Nationwide call was made for Balenciaga protests, following an outrage over their AD campaign featuring children with bondage toys.

“Honestly I was in a complete shock, they went there and all for profit” – demonstrator spoke about how she felt when she discovered the Balanciaga AD campaign.

“We put you on notice, we are not gonna let you disrespect our children, we are not gonna allow you to sexualize our children”

Patrice, demonstrator spoke at Balanciaga Protest, saying they are there to put them on notice.

Protesters gathered outside of Nordstrom on West 57th Street in Manhattan around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon.

Earlier on, Saturday morning, multiple groups, including Scott Lobaido, organized a rally to protest against Drag Story Hour events at Staten Island Children’s Museum.

“The state and city has no right, to use your fkn money to sexualize indoctrinate, these young kids who don’t even know how to spell the word sex”, Scott Lobaido spoke at the protest against the Drag Story Hour event at Staten Island Children’s Museum.

“Someone dresses colorfully, reading to children, this has nothing to do with being LGBTQIA+ in the least” – spoke a supporter from Pride Center of Staten Island, “Folks need to do more research in what Drag Story Hour actually is””It is to support and explain to any human that all people are different, my connection to this is I look very different, I grew up looking very different” spoke event supporter about the purpose of Drag Story Hour events.

At a seperate event that happened around the same time, in Manhattan, anti-semetic groups and others went to attempt to disrupt Lincoln Center Drag Story Hour event to protest what they call “grooming of the children”. It is unkn of they made it inside the event, but a small group was confronted and allegedly fought by at least five black block counter protesters.

Group, which included Jovi Val, reported to police that they were attacked with a brick and robbed, according to cops.

Drag Queen Story Hour and Storytime are children’s events first officially started in 2015 by author and activist Michelle Tea in San Francisco with the goals of promoting reading and diversity.
