Person is Dead after “Cluttered Apartment” Engulfed in Flames this Morning in Forest Hills QUEENS

November 25 2022 QUEENS, New York – One person was pronounced dead after an elderly woman was injured in an apartment fire in Forest Hills neighborhood of Queens on Friday morning, officials said.

Heavy Fire broke out early morning after Thanksgiving Day at a “cluttered apartment” in a building on 71st Avenue around 8:30 a.m., according to FDNY.

“We were freaking out, because you don’t know if the whole building is gonna go”

Neighbors woke up to smoke and firefighters in the hallways, evacuating their homes, some with multiple pets. Witnesses said this is a third fire in their building.
