Elderly Man Beaten with a Cane, Unprovoked, Aboard Upper West Side Manhattan Subway

November 19 2022 MANHATTAN, New York – An elderly man was allegedly beaten with a cane while aboard the 1 train near West 96th stop on the Upper West Side, Saturday morning.

The attack, that police say was unprovoked, happened at around 3:30 a.m. aboard a southbound 1 train at Broadway and West 96th Street, officials said.

Brutal attacker beat the elderly man in his head and face, which cause bruises and cuts, officials say.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition, the NYPD said. There are no arrest
