BREAKING: Reports of Shots Fired at NYPD by Barricaded Suspect in Manhattan

November 18 2022 MANHATTAN, New York – Just before 9:00pm, at least one person was shot and killed in an alleged shootout with police, Friday evening. A second suspect was taken into custody following the shooting that occurred during a joint narcotics operation with federal agencies and NYPD in the Inwood neighborhood of Manhattan, police said.

According to police, gunfire erupted near W 204th street & Vermilyea Avenue when suspects fired upon officers as they attempted to make an arrest on the pair of suspects. An exchange of several unknown number of rounds occurred between both police and the two suspects when one suspect was fatally struck, officials said.

Earlier reports suggested the barricaded suspect was possibly hiding on the roof and emergency services were requested on a rush to the scene as officers at the scene relayed radio transmissions of a male suspect barricaded inside of a building firing shots at police officers.

No members of law enforcement were shot or injured during incident and the investigation is ongoing.
