Rockefeller Christmas Tree Arrives in New York City after Traveling 200 Miles

82-foot tall Norway Spruce tree began its journey to New York City in on Thursday, after being cut from its home in Queensbury. Tree traveled 200 miles to NYC.

The 50-foot wide, 14-ton Rockefeller Christmas tree was brought down from Queensbury early this morning, on a flatbed truck, to Rockefeller Center where it will be erected this Saturday morning.

“When we left the property, the fire department set up a ladder truck and they had a flag, so we drove by the flag and we got a nice escorts by state troopers and fire department, the sheriff’s department, we had a lot of fun getting on the northway, ” – Head Gardner for Rockefeller Center, Erik Pauze, shares how the tree was transferred.

Just around midday on Saturday, Ceremonial Tree Spike was driven into stump, as Rockefeller Christmas Tree lifted into its annual seasonal position along 5th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan.
