November 5 2022 MANHATTAN, New York – A heavy fire broke out in a NYC high-rise apartment building with reports of critical injuries and up to 50 residents trapped inside. FDNY firefighters transmitted a 3-Alarm response to help extinguish the morning blaze at 429 E 52 street.
Multiple people were trapped inside of the apartment complex where fire officials are reporting at least 38 people injured including two in critical condition. Dramatic footage shows the bravery of a heroic FDNY firefighter who hands over his oxygen mask under waves of thick smoke, so that two people hanging out of a window could breathe.
More people were reported trapped on the roof as fire and smoke spread, officials and witnesses said for the fire that started on the 20th floor of a building on 1st Avenue & East 52nd Street near the FDR Drive at around 10:30 a.m.




FDNY officials report at least 12 civilians with various injuries including two residents that were rushed to area hospitals in life threatening condition.
