November 3 2022 MANHATTAN, New York – A woman was raped while jogging near Pier 45 in Hudson River Park in Manhattan, West village on Thursday morning, police say.
A 43-year-old woman was jogging near along the Pier near West and Christopher street around 5:45 a.m. Police say as the victim ran, a man grabbed her from behind and choked her until she lost consciousnes, removed her clothes, and raped her.
The rapist then stole woman’s wallet, debit card, cell phone and headphones before fleeing, cops said.
Victim says she flagged down a fellow jogger who called 911, she was taken to a local hospital, police said.
Police have brought in a 29-year-old man who they are questioning in connection to this crime.
Authorities say he was found after using the victim’s credit card at a Target in Midtown.
Police say this is the same suspect that attacked another woman in the same location in March.
