NYPD Announces 33.6% Shooting Incidents Decrease in NYC

November 3 2022 New York, New York – NYPD Released Crime statistics: “For the month of October 2022, the number of overall shooting incidents
decreased in New York City compared with October 2021. Citywide shooting incidents decreased by 33.6%”

According to released statistics the shooting incidents are down, however rape, robbery and grand larceny are up.

Overall transit crimes for the month of October are up by 28%, NYPD says.

“Additionally, the number of murders citywide decreased for the month of October by 32.6% (29 v. 43) compared to the same period last year,” Police says



“With two months remaining in 2022, the tally of illegal firearms seized from New York City’s streets by our brave officers has reached more than 6,100 – with each seizure another opportunity to keep New Yorkers free from the violence wrought by guns. So far this year, 215 fewer people have suffered gunshots in the city, compared to the same period a year ago,” according to officials.
