October 31 2022 MANHATTAN, New York – A man was struck by gunfire shortly before midnight, just blocks from the popular Manhattan Halloween Parade route, police said.
A 21-year-old male victim, was shot in the buttocks near Broadway and East 13th Street, blocks away from the parade route.
Victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is expected to survive his injuries, officials said.



Just two hours later, in Crown Heights part of Brooklyn, 26-year-old male victim was shot and killed.
Police say victim was riding a bicycle near Crown Street and Rogers Avenue just around 2 a.m., he was shot in the head as the shooter fled in a car, police said.
EMS responded to the location of the incident and transported the victim to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced dead. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
