BREAKING: Sniper Attack from NJ Rooftop Injures Two Police Officers in Newark

November 01 2022 NEWARK, New Jersey – A gunman shot from a Newark rooftop at two police officers in New Jersey on Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 1:57pm, Newark Police department responded to reports of two officers shot and possible active shooter situation on the roof of a building near Chancellor Avenue and Parkview Terrace in New Jersey.

Police say that two officers, one of whom was shot in the neck, have been transported to a nearby hospital, they are expected to survive their injuries.

Police say the suspect was armed with a long gun and then fled to the roof top of a nearby building, police said.

New Jersey governor Phil Murphy posted on Twitter: “I am aware of and closely monitoring an unfolding situation in Newark.

I am in touch with local authorities and the State is providing resources as requested. We will continue to support local law enforcement and ensure that all residents are safe.”

Officers were serving a warrant at a home near Chancellor Avenue around 2p.m., when gunfire erupted,according to NBC New York.
