Police say the body was found just before 4:30 p.m. in Turtle Pond, near 79th Street in Manhattan Central Park.

Crowds watched on as the body was removed, police has not provided any additional information at this time.

We talked with two park goers who were enjoying a seemingly normal afternoon in the park until the discovery of the deceased person found in the water was made, they saw “Something in the water.”

When asked how it felt to witness a discovery in the water while just hanging out at the park, “Yeah, we were just hanging out on this was normal like an hour ago.”, “Yeah no nothing else was going on. I feel like there’s a lot of stuff happening in the city recently so it doesn’t feel. Doesn’t feel super uncommon but it’s still disturbing” they added.

Today’s discovery is the second body discovered in Central Park in two weeks time.
