WATCH THE MOMENT Police Apprehend Alleged Suspect, Unarmed Man in Brooklyn

September 29 2022 BROOKLYN, New York – NYPD officers shot and arrested a suspect who at the time they alleged was involved in the shooting of two men Thursday evening near Kosciuszko St & Broadway around 9:32 p.m., in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, said police.

According to police officials, NYPD officers chased a suspect and during a foot pursuit an Intelligence Unit officer patrolling in the area fired two shots, striking the alleged suspect in the right leg. Police officials described during a press conference that the intelligence officer observed the suspect attempt to grab at his waist band for a possible weapon and also ran towards officers, when he was fired upon and shot in the leg.

The fleeing suspect attempted to enter an apartment building near Van Buren St. & Patchen Avenue when he was captured by NYPD officers before entering a unit. The suspect was arrested, along with two additional men located inside an apartment unit who were taken to the 81st Precinct for questioning, said police.

The injured man who was apprehended by the police was6trying to get inside an apartment building nearby, a weapon was not recovered according to police.

The victims shot near Kosciuszko St. were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries and the wounded suspect who was shot in the leg is also expected to survive, said police officials during a press conference.

A police officer was also taken to a local hospital, with unknown injuries and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
