Tourist Shot During an Attempted Robbery on the Upper West Side

September 18 2022 MANHATTAN, New York – A 31-year-old male tourist from Denmark was shot in the back after approached by an armed mugger near W 103rd Street and West End Avenue in the Upper West Side neighborhood of Manhattan. The victim was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in stable condition, cops said.

Incident occured around 3:30am near West End Avenue and 103rd Street. The 31-year-old victim was walking on a Upper West Side street when approached by the alleged robber who flashed a firearm and demanded money, police say.

According to CBS New York, victim responded that he didn’t have any money and proceeded to walked away, that’s when the suspect shot him in the back.

Detectives are searching for the gunman while the victim is recovering in a local hospital.
