September 12 2022 BROOKLYN, New York – A construction worker was crushed to death under a 2000-pound machinery in Brooklyn.
On Monday morning, a piece of construction machinery collapsed onto the 46-year-old construction worker in Greenpoint, killing him, officials said.
Worker was attaching an extension arm to an excavator at 1 Java Street when the extension collapsed, at a site along the waterfront around 9:15 a.m., police and Department of Buildings said.
The worker suffered severe trauma, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Commissioner said the department will issue a stop work order at the site and conduct a ‘full review’ of the premises.
