September 9 2022 BROOKLYN, New York – A 16-year-old male was shot just a block away from a shared school building that holds three schools including I.S. 303 Herbert S. Eisenberg Middle School, Coney Island Prep Charter Middle School and Rachel Carson High School in Brooklyn, officials said.
Shooting occured just after 1 p.m. near the corner of Neptune and Ocean avenues in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Police say a 16-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries after sustaining a gunshot wound to his stomach.
Upon arrival, 60th precinct officers confirmed that a 16-year-old male was shot in the stomach by an alleged 15-year-old male suspect who was last seen heading towards the Belt Parkway, no arrests have been made.
According to police the the shared school building went under lockdown as police canvassed the area for a suspect.
