Russian Oligarch Alleged Property Searched by FBI and Homeland Security in NYC

September 1 2022 MANHATTAN, New York – FBI and Homeland Security Investigations were seen outside of 515 Park Avenue luxury condos building this morning.

According to and NBC New York article reported by Jonathan Dienst and Tom Winter, the search is part of a probe into a Russian oligarch who recently had his yacht seized.

According to the article, those properties are linked to sanctioned Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg.

Viktor Felixovich Vekselberg is a Ukrainian-born Russian oligarch, a billionaire businessman with alleged close ties to President Putin.

He is the owner and president of Renova Group, a Russian conglomerate.

According to Forbes magazine in November of 2021, his fortune was estimated at $9.3 billion, making him the 262nd richest person in the world.

Spanish law enforcement, on April 4th, executed a Spanish court order freezing the Motor Yacht Tango, a 255-foot luxury yacht owned by sanctioned Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg. Spanish authorities acted on a request from the U.S. Department of Justice for assistance following the issuance of a seizure warrant, filed in the U.S. District Court, which alleged that the Tango was subject to forfeiture based on violation of U.S. bank fraud, money laundering, and sanction statutes.
