August 24, 2022 | Bronx, New York: A veteran NYPD officer of 18 years on the force was hospitalized on Tuesday morning with serious injuries following a vicious attack. The assault was carried out by a trio of crooks that may be part of a wider crime network allegedly involved in multiple attacks throughout the five boroughs, authorities said.
According to NYPD officials, the off duty 48-year-old officer was out for a morning jog when he was approached by a group of three unidentified males along Olmstead Avenue and attacked Tuesday morning. The unidentified off duty officer was struck over the head repeatedly and seriously injured before robbed of his personal belongings.-
The off duty officer was taken to Jacobi Hospital with injuries that include a fractured skull and bleeding in the brain. The 48-year-old officer sustained injuries during the violent attack and robbery that are considered to be life-threatening, cops said.





Detectives are searching for three masked crooks that robbed the victim of his personal possessions including his cellphone, car keys and wallet before making a get away in a dark colored vehicle. At this time there are no arrests in the case and the 48-year-old NYPD officer remains hospitalized in critical condition.
