4-year-old Child Dies after Scooter Crash in the Bronx

August 14 2022 Bronx, New York – A 4-year-old boy has died after a crash on a scooter with his father. His dad is now facing charges after a reportedly stolen scooter they were riding crashed into a car in the Bronx, killing the boy, officials said.

The incident was reported around 9:20 pm near 193rd Street and Bailey Avenue in Kingsbridge Heights part of the Bronx.

Police say that the scooter collided with a car, causing the child and his father to fly off it, father was seen covered in blood at the scene.

The child, who was allegedly not wearing a helmet, sustained a severe head injury from the crash, according to officials. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The father is facing charges if child endangerment and possession of stolen property.

The driver of the car was also charged, with driving without a license.
