July 31 2022 QUEENS, New York: 36-Year-old Anthony Edwards, a rapper who goes by King Jigg, was shot and killed in a car on Far Rockaway Queens on Friday morning, police say.
Shooting occured at approximately 10:11am, when police responded to a report of a person shot at 424 Beach 38th st in Far Rockaway part of Queens.
First responders found Edwards shot sitting inside a BMW car, police said.
Medical workers were at the location to transport the victim to a local hospital, but the man did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
White sheet was seen spread across the car door as police continued to investigate.
According to police on scene, the victim had just come outside to start his car, when a gunmen approached him from the driver side and shot directly into the car. The suspects fled in a white Jeep Cherokee southbound on a Beach 38th street, cops said.
At this time there are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
