Man Shot Dead While Sitting in Car in Far Rockaway

July 31, 2022 | QUEENS, NY: At approximately 10:11am, police responded to a report of a person shot at 424 Beach 38th st in Far Rockaway Queens.

Upon arrival, police from the 101st precinct found 36-year-old Anthony Edwards critically wounded with at least one gunshot to the head and sitting inside a BMW. An ambulance was requested to the location for hospital transport but the man did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene, officials said.

According to police, the wounded man had just come outside to start his car when a gunmen approached him from the driver side and shot directly into the car. The suspects fled in a white Jeep Cherokee southbound on a Beach 38th street, cops said.

At this time there are no arrests and the investigation in this homicide is ongoing.
