July 30, 2022 – Brooklyn, New York: A child was found safe late Saturday evening after being taken while sitting in a car that was stolen from a Carvel Ice Cream shop in Brooklyn. Officers from the 70th Precinct responded just before midnight to Foster and Coney Island Avenues for a child abduction call.
According to police, the 37-year-old mother of the child stepped inside of the ice cream shop and left the vehicle running with her 10-year-old son waiting in the backseat for her to return. That’s when police say an unknown man entered the car and stole the vehicle with the child inside.

The theft suspect would realize the presence of a child after driving a few blocks down the road. This is also when the suspect would put the child out of the vehicle and where he would be found safe a short time later.
At this time no arrests have been made in the incident and police have yet to recover the 37-year-old mothers stolen Black Dodge Charger.
