July 28, 2022 | Manhattan, New York: On Thursday morning a small group of conservatives gathered outside of ABC Studios in New York City to protest The View after the #Suetheview hashtag became a trending topic on Twitter.
Turning Point USA and their supporters demand to “sue the show” after it’s hosts made alleged misinformed comments about why a group of reported Nazis, arrived to protest while waving flags with Nazi imagery outside of the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit on July 23, 2022 in Tampa, Florida.
Turning Point USA posted multiple statements including one saying that Whoopi Goldberg “smeared 5,000 students by associating them with “Nazis.” These morally reprehensible comments diminish the horror on The Holocaust. She must apologize.”
During the small protest held on July 28th in front of ABC studios in NYC, a passerby stopped to engage Drew Hernandez in a discussion about conservatives and their view on slavery.

A cease and desist was issued to ABC News on behalf of Turning Point USA over statements made on The View Host Whoopi Goldbergs statements regarding the incident in which a group of alleged Nazis showed up to protest outside of the Student Action Summit in Florida.
Turning Point USA is defining the statements as defamatory and alleging that Goldberg misrepresented them on live television and that the hosts allegedly lied about Turning Point USA welcoming alleged Nazis into their event.
“I put the young people at the conference in the same category as the protesters outside. I don’t like when people make assumptions about me and it’s not any better when I make assumptions about other people, which I did. So – my bad, I’m sorry.” -Woopi Goldberg

In an attempt to ask the group of alleged nazis to leave the Summit, Turning Point USA students say they confronted the group in a heated verbal exchange. The students were not successful in their efforts to disperse the group due to them standing on a public city sidewalk, according to TPUsa statement: “Turning Point USA states that “TPUSA students confronted and argued with these individuals. Our security attempted to remove the “nazis” but were unable to intervene because they were standing on the public sidewalk. TPUSA students ultimately left the scene, at which point these individuals dispersed.”
As of July 28th, two hosts, including Woopi Goldberg have issued a correction and an apology: “I put the young people at the conference in the same category as the protesters outside. I don’t like when people make assumptions about me and it’s not any better when I make assumptions about other people, which I did. So – my bad, I’m sorry.” said Woopi Goldberg on her show.
