Bullet Hits Mercedes SUV Window Causing it to Crash in Astoria Neighborhood

July 24, 2022 | Queens, New York: A Mercedes Benz SUV with occupants crashed after being struck by gunfire in Astoria, Queens early Sunday morning. Just before 5:00 a.m., officers from the 114th Precinct responded to reports of a vehicle that crashed near Hoyt Ave. S. and 31st Avenue.

Upon police arrival, officers found a Mercedes Benz SUV that crashed into an elevated subway pillar. One of the windows on the SUV was shattered from gunfire that penetrated through on the drivers side.

According to police, no one was shot during the incident. Occupants of the vehicle were evaluated by EMS at the scene as a precautionary measures.

At this time there are no arrests in the shooting and the investigation is ongoing.
