July 23, 2022 | Queens, New York: An off-duty New York City Corrections Officer was shot in the leg outside of a nightclub in Astoria, Queens early Saturday morning. The corrections officer is expected to survive his injuries, cops said.
The 31-year-old off-duty corrections officer was shot in the leg as he was leaving a Night Club in Astoria and was rushed to Elmhurst General Hospital, said police.
Detectives are searching for the alleged shooters who according to police say may have targeted the 27-year-old in an attempt to rob the off duty officer of the jewelry he was wearing at the time, a gold chain and Rolex watch.




At this time there are no arrests and detectives are searching for a trio of individuals that fled the scene in a dark colored sedan as the investigation into this incident is ongoing.
