July 21, 2022 | Brooklyn, Coney Island, New York: A 19-year-old male was shot during an altercation Wednesday evening near the Coney Island boardwalk. The shooting occurred just steps away from Luna Park, a popular amusement park near the boardwalk.
At approximately 9:45pm, the teenage victim was involved in a dispute with the alleged shooter near the intersection of Surf and Stillwell avenues, cops said.
The suspected gunman let off several rounds of gunfire as the dispute escalated, shooting the 19-year-old victim in the left leg, police officials said.
The teen victim was rushed by EMS to an area hospital where authorities say he is expected to survive his injuries.
According to police, two individuals in connection with the shooting were taken into police custody at the scene. A weapon was also found at the location and documented as evidence, police said.
