July 17, 2022 | Bronx, New York: An on duty police sergeant in the Bronx fired his service weapon at a suspect overnight, nearly striking the individual. The sergeant engaged a suspect after a weapon was pointed at the sergeant.
According to NYPD officials, the sergeant fired his weapon, but nobody was shot and the suspect fled the area. The sergeant was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treated for ringing in his ears.




At this time there are no arrests and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Some hours earlier, an off-duty police officers in Washington DC shot and killed a suspect who they say was pointing a gun at the Pier just outside a Restaurant of 800 Warf Street.
Incident occured on Saturday night at the Wharf, where additional person described as witness, suffered a graze wound, DC police say.
