Three Teens Dead, One Critical and Several Injured in Major Car Crash on Staten Island

July 10, 2022 | STATEN ISLAND, NY: Three teens traveling in red mustang were killed and one left in critical condition along with several others injured during a huge multi-vehicle crash on Staten Island Sunday evening.

The 16-year-old driver of the mustang is in critical but stable condition, police said. Two teen females ages 15 and 16-years-old were pronounced dead along with a 15-year-old male.

Police officials determined the Mustang was traveling westbound on Hylan Boulevard when it struck a black SUV. The Mustang was split in half during the collision and almost unrecognizable. According to police, the four occupants in the SUV are expected to survive their injuries. NYC Mayor Eric Adams was seen surveying the crash site.

Firefighters rushed to 6600 Hyland Blvd around 9pm to a large multiple vehicle accident. Initial reports indicated multiple victims were ejected from their cars during the crash, along with trapped victims according to police radio transmissions.

Rescue crews removed two trapped victims from the wreckage and an aviation rescue response was performing search for additional victims who may have been ejected from cars during the collisions.

The official cause of the deadly multi-vehicle crash has yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.
