62-year-old Innocent Bystander Dead After July 4th Violent Night of Shootings

July 4 2022 Bronx, New York – A man is Dead after Three people were shot in the Bronx on July 4th evening. The 62-year-old, identified as John Edwards was shot in the chest and killed during yesterdays violent evening in which at least eleven people were shot around the city. Mr Edwards was an innocent bystander in this incident, police said Tuesday morning.

Officers from the 48th precinct responded to the incident that occurred at 2431 Prospect avenue around 11:30pm, in Belmont section of the Bronx. According to police, a second man with a gunshot wound was located, the 23-year-old male victim was shot in the right leg and transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

A third 25-year-old victim was shot in the right arm and arrived to St Barnabas Hospital by private means where he is expected to survive his injuries, cops said.

Police originally had a suspect in custody on 3rd Avenue and Webster, however later reported that there has been no arrests made.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., officers also responded to a separate report of shots fired outside of 2705 Bainbridge Ave. Upon arrival they found a 23-yr-old male shot in the abdomen, according to officials.

The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
