4 Shot 1 Dead after Shooting at Queens Auto Shop

July 02, 2022 | QUEENS, NY: Just before 10pm shots rang out in Queens, several people were struck and one was fatally wounded. According to police officials, a gunman walked into a Queens auto body shop and opened fire during a party going on inside the location, shooting at least four people, leaving one dead and three others injured, police said.

A 24-year-old man who was killed has been identified by police as Justin Baerga of Queens. Baerga was shot in the head and rushed by EMS to Jamaica Hospital but could not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead, cops said. The shooting incident occurred on 89th Avenue near 129th Street in the Richmond Hill neighborhood of Queens.

Another man was shot in the right leg. The 25-year-old male was also transported to Jamaica Hospital and is expected to recover, police said.

Authorities said that two teenage females 18 and 17-years-old were also shot but their injuries were considered to be from graze wounds. The pair of teens declined medical attention, police said. The 18-year-old female , was grazed on her head and the 17-year-old grazed on the torso.

At this time there are no arrests in this case and the shooting is still under investigation.
