June 29 2022 Manhattan, New York – Azsia Johnson, 20, was shot in the head while walking with her 3-month-old baby near Samuel Seabury Playground on the Upper East Side, has died. Incident occured on Lexington Avenue and E95th Street around 9pm on Wednesday evening.
The 20-year-old woman was taken to Metropolitan hospital and in life threatening condition and was later pronounced dead due to her injuries sustained during the shooting. There are no arrests at this time, reports of male suspect who fled.
Reports suggest that young woman was walking with a baby, when a man, wearing all black hooded sweatshirt, walked up from behind and shot her in the head. The child, presumed to be victim’s, was taken in an ambulance, uninjured.
