One Person is Dead, Child in Critical Condition, at Least Three More Injured after Car Accident in Brooklyn

June 25, BROOKLYN, NY: A 67-year-old woman is dead and an 8-year-old child is in critical condition after multiple pedestrians were struck by a vehicle late Saturday afternoon. The collision with serious injuries occurred near MacDonough St and Ralph Avenue in the BedFord-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn.

At approximately 7:10pm, officers from the 81st precinct at the scene located five people including a child with serious injuries. According to police, one person was confirmed DOA and the child struck is in critical condition. The young child was rushed to Maimonides Hospital and three additional victims were transported to area hospitals with injuries that vary from serious to minor.

An NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad was requested to the scene. Police advised that a suspect is in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
