Woman Struck by Stray Bullet at Bronx Playground During Father’s Day Basketball Tournament

June 19 2022 Bronx, New York – An innocent bystander was shot during a Father’s Day basketball tournament, held yearly in the Morris Hill part of the Bronx.



A 25-year-old woman was shot in the shoulder just before 9 p.m. inside the Half-Nelson Playground on 1631 Nelson Ave, police say. Woman says she suddenly felt pain, then realized she was hit with a bullet.

The victim was taken to the hospital where she is expected to survive. Investigation is ongoing.
