Julian Assange’s extradition to USA was approved by UK government, Appeal is planned

June 17, 2022 Julian Assange supporters and family gathered at the British Consulate in New York City to advocate for the espionage charges against him to be dropped.

The Wiki leaks founders extradition to the USA has been approved by the British government, where he could face, according to some estimations, up to 175 years in prison.



Julian Assange has 14 days to appeal the decision by the British court, which he intends to do, according to sources.

Julian Assange is an Australian editor, publisher and activist who founded WikiLeaks in 2006. WikiLeaks came to international attention in 2010 when it published a series of leaks provided by U.S. Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning, according to Wikipedia page.

Assange has been confined in Belmarsh, a category A prison, in London since April 2019.
