At approximately 2:50 a.m., Officers responded to the apartment on Grand Concourse near East 156th Street and located the unresponsive female.
The unidentified 31-year-old officer was stabbed multiple times by her husband who later turned himself into police at a nearby precinct. Charges are pending against the officers 34-year-old spouse.
During the vicious assault, the female victim was able to call a relative, who called 911 for the victim, As reported by the NYPost
According to police the off duty officer was pronounced dead by EMS at the victims apartment.
The investigation into the fatal stabbing is ongoing.
