Bronx Man Shot & Killed Inside Bodega, Suspect Arrested

May 03, 2022 | BRONX, NY: Tuesday afternoon Edison Cruz, 25, was charged with murder, manslaughter & criminal possession of a weapon in regards to the deadly Bronx Bodega shooting where one man was killed. Two victims remain hospitalized, a 34-year-old female shot in the torso is in critical condition, NYPD officials said.

Upon arrival, officers from the 46th precinct observed three persons shot inside a bodega at 6 East Burnside Avenue. According to police a 31-year-old male shot in the head and upper torso area was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. The second victim, a 34 year old female was shot in the torso and critically wounded. A third victim, 34-year-old male was shot in the left arm.

EMS rushed the additional victims to St Barnabas hospital where the female victim remains in critical condition and the male victim in stable condition.

Edison Cruz is seen escorted out the 46th precinct by detectives in handcuffs to an awaiting police vehicle for jail transport.

FNTV obtained surveillance footage stills from the moment shots were fired at the storefront and inside a Bronx bodega killing one man and injuring two others, police said. NYPD stated they were looking into a person of interest and the investigation was ongoing.
