Suspect Charged with Murder After Deadly Stabbing at Dave & Busters in Times Square

May 01, 2022 | MANHATTAN, NY: Saturday evening a man was fatally stabbed at the Dave & Busters in Times Square. On Sunday afternoon 41-year-old Jesse Armstrong was charged with the murder of a 39-year-old Harlem resident and escorted out of the midtown precinct south in handcuffs by detectives. A verbal dispute inside a Times Square restaurant turned into deadly altercation.

The 39-year-old victim was gravely wounded after being stabbed inside the Times Square establishment during an alleged dispute that occurred on the third floor arcade area. According to police, upon arrival officers located the victim with a stab wound to the chest and the 39-year-old male was rushed to St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Reportedly the pair began to argue over an arcade prize. The victim and suspect were engaged in a verbal dispute turned physical, over a redeemable prize offered at the arcade located inside of the establishment, police said Saturday.

The incident occurred just before 11pm when police officers responded to 911 calls of an assault in progress at the Times Square restaurant located at 234 West 42 Street.

The victim of the violent altercation has been identified by the New York City Police Department as 39-year-old Allen Stanford of Harlem.
