The family lost contact with Denis after Russian army took control over Bucha and they found his remains among the bodies of killed victims at a local morgue after visiting several other morgues to identify him.
“We were searching for him but we’re told that they found a matching body. About a month passed (since he disappeared) and it was hard to recognize him. We came here, to Bucha… they had four unidentified bodies in a refrigerator. Police officers opened the refrigerator for us. The smell of death, even police couldn’t come close. -said a grieving relative

“She Was Running Into Her House, They Shot Her in The Back” says Evgen about his wife’s aunt, who cared for a disabled woman who was unable to walk. Elderly woman he said tried crawling to a table but starved to death. He is hoping someone can adopt the dog that was sitting next to the body and is still sitting there.
