Climate Activists Arrested For Blocking Roadway in Manhattan

April 16, 2022 | MANHATTAN, NY: Thirteen climate activists protesting against fossil fuel emissions were arrested Saturday afternoon at 23rd & 5th Avenue for blocking a roadway and obstructing vehicle traffic near the Flatiron Building.

Activists could be heard chanting “No more coal! No more oil! Keep our carbon in the soil!” As NYPD deployed their LRAD audio system to warm protesters of imminent arrest if they didn’t clear the road way.

On April 13th, climate activists protest in front of NBC and ABC news station HQ’s in New York City calling on the media companies to end climate silence.

Protesters took to the streets, demanding climate change, along with action from the government and media.

Protesters converged in front of NBC and ABC headquarters in Manhattan to protest the lack of climate coverage from these stations with one of the groups planned targeted actions designed to disrupt business leading into the weekend.
