Bronx Man Hospitalized After Shot Sitting in Car

April 05, 2022 | BRONX, NY: A man sitting in his SUV was shot in the chest after an individual in another vehicle pulled along side the victim and opened fire, said authorities. Police officers from the 47th Precinct responded to 911 calls regarding a shooting incident that occurred at the intersection of Bronxwood Avenue & Tilden Street just after 2:00am, in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx.

First responding officers found an injured man with at least one gunshot wound to the chest. EMS transported the victim to Jacobi Medical Center where he was last listed in stable condition and is expected to survive. According to police, the victim’s injuries are non-life threatening.

Bronx detectives are searching for an unidentified individual in a gray sedan that fled the scene following the shooting. As of Tuesday morning no arrests have been made and the investigation into this incident is ongoing.
