61-year-old Woman Killed by Stray Bullet in the Bronx

April 04, 2022 | BRONX, NY: A 61-year-old woman was shot and killed Monday night in the Bronx after getting caught in the crossfire of a dispute on a street, according to the NYPD.

The elderly woman was shot in the lower back in front of the Maysaa Fordham Deli at 164 E. 188 Street in the Bronx. The incident occurred in the Fordham section between Creston Avenue and Grand Concourse. According to police, the 61-year-old woman was rushed to Saint Barnabas Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Detectives are searching for a group of male suspects wanted for questioning in regards to the fatal shooting. The 61-year-old woman who was fatally shot was not involved in the dispute and not the intended target, cops said.

The investigation into this fatal shooting incident is still ongoing and as of Monday evening no arrests have been made.
