Man Shot in the Head at Queens Pawn Shop

March 28, 2022 | QUEENS, NY: A pawn shop worker in Queens was shot in the head on Monday afternoon. Detectives are searching for the suspect who fled the scene after shooting the 60-year-old worker inside of the business, police said.

The shooting incident occurred around 1 p.m. at 178-22 Jamaica Avenue. For reasons still under investigation, detectives are working to determine if the shooting was a result of a dispute gone wrong. Or if the shooting was a case of attempted robbery.

According to police, the 60-year-old store worker was rushed by EMS to Jamaica Medical Center and was last listed critical but stable condition. Police were searching for a suspect who fled on foot in an unknown direction after the shooting. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
