Three-year-old shot coming out of daycare in Brooklyn

March 25 2022 Brooklyn, New York – Police say a 3-year-old girl was shot in the shoulder after leaving Creative Minds Daycare. The incident was reported at 127 Riverdale Avenue just after 6 p.m. on Friday in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn.

According to police, the young child was with her father when she was struck in the shoulder by a stray bullet. Police officials said, upon arrival, officers located an injured 3-year-old girl and bandaged the child’s gunshot wound to the shoulder. NYPD officers then placed the wounded child in a police car and rushed the young victim to Brookdale hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, cops said.

Since January at least 3 children have been shot in New York City. “An 11 month old child was shot two months ago. Last week, a seven year old child was shot. And tonight a three year old girl leaving a daycare center with her dad was shot in broad daylight, enough is enough.” Said an NYPD official during a press conference regarding the shooting.

As of Friday evening, detectives in Brooklyn are searching for one suspected shooter but have made no arrests. The investigation into this shooting incident is ongoing.
