2 Off-Duty Corrections Officers Injured in Queens Bar Shooting

March 19, 2022 – QUEENS, NY: Two corrections officers were injured early Saturday when gunfire erupted outside of a bar in Queens. The shooting incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. outside the Showtime Bar and Lounge at 119 101st street in the South Richmond Hill neighborhood of Queens. NYPD officers from the 102nd precinct responded to calls of a person shot, upon arrival they observed a shattered window from gunfire on the establishment and located an off-duty female corrections officer shot in the foot.

According to police, the suspect was escorted out by bar security following a dispute with another patron inside the bar. A short time later, the suspect returned with a weapon and opened fire on the bar. Based on preliminary reports, police determined the pair of off duty corrections officers, a 32-year-old female who was shot in the foot and the 31-year-old male struck in the hand were not the intended targets.

The pair of off-duty corrections officers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were both transported by EMS to Jamaica Hospital. There are no arrests as of late Saturday morning, detectives are searching for a suspect that fled the scene and the investigation into this shooting incident is ongoing.
