March 16, 2022 – Police responded to a suspected murder suicide and found two unresponsive individuals with gunshot wounds to the head. According to police a 36-year-old woman was located with a fatal gunshot wound to the head and a 41-year-old male was located with apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head at a home inside the Medgar Evers Apartments located at 755 Gates avenue in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Police responded to 911 calls of two people shot at that location and additional police units were also requested. Emergency service unit as well as officers from the 81st Precinct found the unresponsive pair on the second-floor of the residence. According to police, EMS pronounced both individuals dead at the scene.
Detectives in Brooklyn suspect the 41-year-old man fatally shot the female victim before turning the weapon on himself inside of the Brooklyn residence. A firearm was also recovered at the scene, police said.
