12 Injured in Massive Fire at Brooklyn Gym

March 14, 2022 – BROOKLYN, NY: A massive fire broke out at a gym around noon on Monday where it’s reported that at least 12 people were injured including nine members of service and three civilians in the Boerum Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn.

According to officials, FDNY responded to 911 calls of a fire at the UFC Fit Gym at 96 Boram Pl just after 10:30am. Fire crews could be seen battling the blaze from the building’s roof as more units were requested to aid extinguishing heavy fire that was upgraded to five-alarms.

The city’s official Twitter page for the Office of Emergency Management tweeted a warning for people to expect heavy smoke and delays in the area as emergency crews responded to the intense fire and authorities investigated.

According to FDNY, around 200 emergency response crew members aided in battling the five-alarm blaze. NYPD officers were also requested to assist with traffic control in the area. The investigation into the official cause of the fire is ongoing.
