Fleeing SUV Strikes Officer; Shots Fired by NYPD in Queens.

March 10, 2022 – QUEENS, NY: Two NYPD officers were injured during a traffic stop after trying to stop an alleged stolen vehicle. As an officer approached a suspected stolen SUV upon exiting his vehicle, the driver took off and slammed into one officer injuring his leg as his partner rushed for cover.

The incident occurred at Tuskegee Airmen Way and Sutphin Boulevard just before midnight in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens. At least one round of gunfire was shot by NYPD as the suspect in a white SUV fled the scene. The officers injuries were considered to be non-life threatening and both were evaluated at Jamaica Medical Center.

No arrests have been made, Police are still searching for the suspect driving a white Subaru SUV and the investigation into this incident is ongoing.
